thank you putting this together. I am so confused by much of this (protests about post Oct 7 Israeli military and settler violence) and how it blends into anti-semitism. it is so much easier to unite crowds with hate than nuance so i wonder who benefits from stoking latent anti-semitism and the concept that one's political adversaries are inhuman evil demons in league with the jews to run the world ! talk more about elite beliefs and these current fads !
Interesting interview, but this one bit stopped me in my tracks.

Um, what?
Is she referring specifically to the post October 7 protests or something? Is she actually claiming that no one in the US had raised any alarm bells about campus protests, social justice excesses, or identitarian politics besides a few valiant Jewish students?
Sittig’s characterization strikes me as completely out of touch with American politics over the last several decades. Conservatives and even some liberals have been calling attention to radical politics on campus and off at least since I was growing up in the 80s and 90s.
Thanks Rob, good phraseology "an autoimmune disease" it captures the real motivation perfectly and is also explanatory in a way that most people will understand. Evil groups often make alliances with seemingly very different groups to accomplish an overall end. We saw this in the 1960's and during the anti Vietnam protests where ending the war was the stated goal but the real objective was to destroy the county's ability to govern itself, it began the long march through the institutions.
If a movement can sow enough turmoil the mainstream part of the population will give in so they can go about their lives. That is the purpose of the road blockades and exclusion zones we saw on campus. Most of those in the encampments post October 7th had no idea of the meaning of the chants they mouthed so readily and most still don't.
Fine conversation, with lots of interesting notes. Sadly, no discussion of the 1979 Iranian post-Shah revolution. Democracy folk hated the Shah, Communists hated the Shah, Khomeini & Islamists hated the Shah. United in hate, successful in revolution/ regime change, but 2 of the 3 were doomed, in advance, of being disappointed. The most vicious & ruthless group wins after the prior regime loses law enforcement power.
Between US coddled Marxist’s (& their silly luxury beliefs), and Islamists, it’s almost certain the Islamists win after a revolution.
